Electronic Medical Records

Computers have changed the way the world operates today – in business, schools, at home and even in the medical field. At the Christenbury Eye Center, we have been using computers to benefit our patients for many years.

Now, an important discovery of the computer age — the electronic medical record — is a standard part of our operation. Each of the Christenbury facilities is fully networked for this amazing “paperless” system that allows us to store and retrieve important patient information at the click of a mouse.

How the Process Works.

During an annual eye exam, our eye care technicians use a specially designed computerized system to test your visual acuity and refractive error (the degree to which your vision needs correcting). The information is then electronically transferred to your chart.

When the physician reviews your test results, he simply calls up the data on a computer in any one of the Christenbury facilities. Detailed information about your specific eye care needs is immediately accessible. No paperwork is required.

Our LASIK patients also benefit from this system. The database saves the appropriate information on your eye to the LASIK targeting screen, ensuring a higher level of accuracy during laser vision correction.
