Orbscan TopographyThe Orbscan takes the ability to map the surface of the eye to a new level, making it a vital diagnostic test the every patient should receive during evaluation for LASIK Surgery. The Orbscan is considered a multidimensional diagnostic system, which means it can evaluate the structure, elevation, irregularities, thickness and curvature of the entire cornea, both front and back. More traditional diagnostic tools that map the cornea usually measure just one point on the corneal surface. The Orbscan captures 9,000 points of data about the entire optical surface in just 1.5 seconds. It does a superior job of detecting corneal abnormalities or areas of varying thickness which may affect LASIK results. |
